Michael began his sales and marketing career in his early teens. He learned quickly how to ask for the sale, overcome objections, and close the deal. Years later he started his first company, a classified ad publication. He successfully worked with chain convenience stores, gas stations, and independent liquor stores for distribution. As the brand started to build, Michael had to make the difficult decision to close the company due to undercapitalization. This hard lesson led Michael to enroll in business graduate school.
After graduating from business school, Michael started consulting for small—to medium-sized businesses, specializing in start-ups, new product launches, and sales strategy. This grew into a small boutique agency with expanded services, including brand strategy, marketing, and sales growth planning.
During this consulting period, Michael accepted some fractional marketing and sales leadership roles, gaining experience on the brand side. Michael excelled in these positions, growing brands and developing successful product launch strategies. Over his tenure, he has worked with start-ups to Fortune 500 clients including Mattel, Macadamia Natural Oil, Precision Support Services (now PAG Group), Beyond Meat, Alaska Airlines, Hibachi San (owned by Panda Restaurant Group), and more.
Sustainability has been a part of Michael’s life from an early age while enjoying many outdoor activities. The ocean, the mountains, and beyond are Michael’s playground. Always wanting to tie sustainability into business, Michael received the opportunity with a leading sustainable packaging manufacturer - Be Green Packaging.
From launching his first business to surpassing sales forecasts, Michael knows how to lead a team to success and overcome setbacks.
